McLaughlin & Nardi, LLC Welcomes Brooke Fulmer
McLaughlin & Nardi, LLC is pleased to announce that Brooke Fulmer will be joining us as a law clerk. She will be full-time during the Summer, and part-time during the school year.
Brook is heading into her third year at New York Law School where she is an editor for the New York Law School Family Law Quarterly. (New York Law School is something of a farm team for our firm with four of our attorneys having earned their J.D.s from there.)
Brooke is a summa cum laude graduate of Monmouth University where she majored in criminal justice with a minor in legal studies. While at Monmouth University she was awarded the Academic Excellence Scholarship. She presented her research study during Scholarship Week.
Aside from her academic accomplishments, Brooke brings significant experience for a law clerk to the firm. Brooke served as an intern for the Justice Dakota Ramseur of the Supreme Court of New York, First Judicial Department, Civil Branch. She serves on the Patent Law Clinic at New York Law School.
She is assisting Robert Chewning, Pauline Young and Maurice McLaughlin with commercial and employment litigation. She has been working on many cases, amazingly with good cheer, a great attitude and great work ethic! These are a few examples of the matters Brooke has been working on.
- Brooke reviewed a long, complicated commercial finance agreement, researched the law, and assisted in finding causes of action for effective counterclaims and a third-party complaint in commercial litigation in Bergen County.
- Brooke has been working on a complex employment case with voluminous discovery involving multiple parties concerning claims by law enforcement officers in Passaic County that they were discriminated against.
- She has been deep in the weeds analyzing many thousands of pages of discovery in litigation in the Superior Court in Hudson County over claims of fraud in a condominium complex.
- Brooke has prepared discovery demands in a civil service disciplinary appeal being litigated in the New Jersey Office of Administrative Law.
- Brooke has conducted legal research and prepared motions in litigation in the Superior Court in Essex County over a construction project, including claims of consumer fraud, breach of contract and negligence, and has also helped prepare the case for trial.
- Fulmer has researched and prepared motions concerning claims of fraud in Federal Court against a major national bank for wrongfully initiating a foreclosure action.
- Brooke has conducted discovery and prepared motions and responses in whistleblower litigation under the New Jersey Conscientious Employee Protection Act (“CEPA”) in the Superior Court of New Jersey.
- She has prepared exhibits and assisted attorneys in preparing for depositions in commercial litigation in Morris County Superior Court.
- Brooke is reviewing and revising contracts for both general contractors and subcontractors for a commercial construction project.
- Brooke has put her experience and training from the New York Law School Clinic to good use when meeting with clients and potential clients for interviews, consultations, preparing discovery, and preparing for depositions and trial.
